Lately, I've been reading a lot of fanfiction in Japanese. As my level is not so high, I've developed a method that allows me to read without dying of boredom looking up kanji.
This way, I'm improving my vocabulary and kanji while reading fanfics.
My method, for those interested:

1) Firstly needed: a good Japanese word processor with a pop up dictionary --> Highly recommended: NJStar Japanese Word Processor
2) Write there the names of the pair or fandom, copy and paste in Google (or write it directly there, if you can) and add "小説" or "SS" or "novel" (For example, 乾海 小説 (inukai, shousetsu))
3) Select a result and search there a link with "小説" or "SS" or "novel". Sometimes they name it 文
4) Select a story, select all, copy and paste it in the NJStar WP, and start reading. When I find a word I don't know, I place the cursor over it and the dictionary pops up with the reading in Hiragana and the meaning.

Some recs:

Inui search engine: 乾貞治100%検索
Kaidoh search engine: 海堂薫検索エンジン マムサーチ + MAMU Search +
Inukai search engine: INUKAI SEARCH -for inukai lovers-

Inukai sites with lots of long and juicy novels, highly recommended (PG-13 to NC-17):

What I have done lately:

I read Wuthering Heights. I loved Hareton. I'm in a strange mood since then.

I had an exhausting Ikea's day. I ached all over.

I made bagels.

I've been watching Gymnastic Worlds and Eurobasket.

Some pictures from Japan (with a bonus) )

Japan is a lovely country and I'm planning on going back there as soon as I can.

August 22nd, 2007

I'm going to Japan tomorrow! I'm travelling with my husband and a couple of friends and we'll stay there 9 days. We'll be visiting Kyoto, Nagoya and Tokyo, at least. I'd love to see Hokkaido too, but I don't think we'll have enough time.

To-do list:

1) Practice Japanese
2) Eat
3) Buy furikake (tons of furikake)
4) Visit temples
5) Visit Madarake at Nagoya
6) Eat bento at 公園
7) Visit Otome doori
8) Buy manga/doujinshi and some novels (a few more books of Mirage of blaze AND Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu)
9) Visit Akihabara (of course)
10) No sleep

I suck at taking photos, but I'll do my best! (and I'll try harder with the photos of bento, I promise!)

Another H/W fic

This is another H/W old mini-fic, the very first one I wrote, back in 2002. Untitled for much too long, I finally gave it a name.

H/W fic

Some years ago I wrote a fic whose title I never really liked. As I have just created an account at gj, which I hope will be a little more alive than its brother at LJ, I thought to post it there with a new title. But then I took pity of my almost dead "ame_no_yume" identity, and decided to post it here too. It's not very original, I know.

Old title: A Victorian Rave?
New title: Idiosyncrasies
Author: watakushi (a.k.a. LaDine) beta-read by Susannah Shepherd
Fandom: Sherlock Holmes
Pairing: W/H
Disclaimer: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created them
Summary: This story it's based on the episode 'The Musgrave's ritual' of Granada instead of on the Canon : Holmes and Watson are invited to Musgrave's mansion to spend a weekend, and Brunton is still alive.

This is my first post.

So,

I really do not know what to write about.

Me? I do not think so. My life is... not boring, just common.

But this is my little stage.

Welcome,
